DIY Hand Sanitizer

What to do during quarantine & the hand sanitizer shortage? Why not have some fun making your own?

Without having a testing facility to ensure effectiveness Jagdish Khubchandani, PhD, associate professor of health science at Ball State University, shared this hand sanitizing formula as Jagdish saw many DIY recipes that were less than proficient. He recommends only making this in small batches & only using when washing your hands isn’t a viable option.

Basic hand sanitizer formula

Combine:

  • 2 parts rubbing alcohol
  • 1 part Aloe Vera gel
  • A few drops of your favorite essential oils. Lemon, lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, etc.. (This is the fun part!)
